I'm almost embarrassed to post on this blog. I feel like creating a brand new one since it has taken me so many months to post. Everyone tells me - oh, you had the wedding and the honeymoon, this, that, and the other thing - it IS okay that I haven't posted, but I don't feel that it is okay. So, here I am, finding my way back.
Some updates...
Got married in December. Everything turned out great, which makes me want to kick myself for worrying during the year of planning. It was over in a blink of an eye. Not literally, but that is how it felt.
We honeymooned in New York, which was fabulous. I had been there so many times and he had been there on business, so we decided to go this time together. And for the first time, I got to visit El Museo del Barrio. I was expecting to see Puerto Rican Art, but what I got was Dominican art. I found it funny because I was expecting that connection to PR and what I got was DR. Not complaining though! My half Dominican self enjoyed holding the hand of my husband (still feels funny saying it) looking at the paintings and statues.
Now you are probably wondering why I went to NYC for my honeymoon instead of Puerto Rico or Dominican Republic. I live in Miami and I get sunshine and access to the beach 75% of the year. I wanted cold weather with possibility of snow. We didn't get snow. Arctic winds, but no snow, which gave us plenty of time to snuggle up against each other. Isn't that what you are suppose to do on a honeymoon anyway? ; )
At work, I got all the "oh, you got married and we know what YOU DID on your honeymoon" looks from my students and colleagues. Some of my students had the audacity to ask about it, hinting at the activities newlyweds partake in. I suggested they ask about their grade to assure their graduation in June. I didn't get another question after that.
I'm just glad another school year has come to an end with my sanity in tact.
